Undercover prostitution operation nets 14

A two-day undercover operation conducted by county police has resulted in the arrest of 14 men. The sting targeted solicitation for prostitution along the Jefferson Davis Highway corridor on June 4 and 5.

The men approached female were posing as prostitutes, and requested sex in exchange for money. At that point they were taken into custody by other undercover officers.

Most of those arrested were charged with soliciting for prostitution and the use of a vehicle while soliciting prostitution. If convicted of those charges, they will be required by state law to submit to an HIV test and participate in counseling about HIV and its transmission.

Some incurred other charges as well, including not having an operator's license, having a suspended license, driving outside a restricted license and resisting arrest. One man, Michael J. Dennehy, 42, of the 8500 block of Rockaway Road, was charged with indecent exposure.

Schmick, 49, of the 7200 block of Winding Creek Lane, Mark E. Parrish, 44, of the 13300 block of South Chester Road, Gustavo H. Lopez, 23, of the 6500 block of Walmsley Boulevard, John P. Gibson Sr., 42, of the 8900 block of Firethorne Lane, Dionicio B. Lozano, 31, of the 3000 block of Congress Road, Gerald G. Highsmith Jr. 39, of the 6100 block of Cedar Springs Road, Sergio E. Giron-Diaz, 25, of the 1400 block of Gibeston Court in Richmond, James B. Pace, 40, of the 2700 block of Buckstone Drive in Powhatan, Virgil G. Turner Jr., 39, of the 17200 block of Lebanon Road in Spring Grove, Joel W. Forehand Jr., 39, of the 600 block of Reams Road in Petersburg and Scott E. Hillen, 50, of the 1500 block of Leckron Masontown Road, Leckron, Pa.
