Dances require standards

In response to Sherry Nelson’s [Nov. 3] letter: Ohhhhhhh! Are the rest of us prudes because we want decency at the dances? This is a parent talking. Just because Ms. Nelson has sons does not exempt her from all of this behavior.

It may come as a surprise, but some parents, teachers and administrators do not want to see students’ underwear (if, in fact, they do wear any). Some parents, teachers and administrators do not want to see students pole dancing or bumping and grinding each other. Those are dances, not strip joints. Is civility and decency such a bad thing?
