A Dodge truck was traveling south on Branders Bridge Road when it crossed over the double-yellow line into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a Chevrolet sedan. The driver of the Chevrolet, Dorothy D. Beach, 45, of the 14200 block of Glenmorgan Drive, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the Dodge, Christopher B. Brasher, 32, was transported to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Brasher, of Daleville, Virginia, has been arrested and charged with DUI involuntary manslaughter and driving while intoxicated.

Driver charged in fatal crash

Police have charged a woman in relation to a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred in the 2300 block of West Hundred Road at about 11:11 p.m. on May 5.

Donna M. Browning, 59, of the 6300 block of Old Zion Hill Road, has been charged with driving while intoxicated in relation to the crash. Police say Browning was driving a Toyota 4Runner west on West Hundred Road when it crossed over the median and into the eastbound lanes. The Toyota collided head-on with a Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML350 driven by Lesley N. Andorful, 40, of the 13500 block of River Fork Way.

Andorful was transported to VCU Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Correction: In earlier print and online versions of News Briefs, the charges against Christopher B. Brasher were listed incorrectly. Brasher was charged with DUI involuntary manslaughter and driving while intoxicated. We regret the error.
