“For the Duration: Letters from Home,” 7 p.m., Virginia War Memorial, 621 S. Belvidere St., Richmond. The first in the Quill Theatre’s 2017-18 Historical Reading Series features readings from real letters of those who served in World War II and their loved ones at home. $12- $15.

River City Givers meeting, 7-8 p.m., Shady Grove United Methodist Church, 4825 Pouncey Tract Road, Glen Allen. Join other local women supporting the Richmond community by contributing to local charities together, as a large group.
